Privacy Policy for ImpEx CD

IMPEX Academy built the ImpEx CD mobile application as a free customs duty and import-export information utility. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the ImpEx CD application.
1. Information We Collect
ImpEx CD does not require users to create an account, register, or provide personal information such as name, phone number, email address, location, contacts, photographs, microphone recordings, or payment information.
The application only requests internet access to load its web-based customs duty calculator and related information.
When you search for an HS Code, product name, CPC Code, or other customs information, the search term is transmitted to the application’s web service to generate and return the requested result. IMPEX Academy does not intentionally use these search terms to identify users.
2. Automatically Processed Technical Information
ImpEx CD uses a WebView and web services hosted through Google infrastructure, including Google Apps Script and Google Sheets.
When the application connects to these services, Google or the internet service provider may automatically process limited technical information, such as:
- Internet Protocol address;
- Device or browser type;
- Date and time of a request;
- Web request and diagnostic logs;
- General technical information required to provide and secure the service.
This information may be processed according to Google’s own privacy and security practices.
3. How Information Is Used
Any information transmitted through the application is used only to:
- Process HS Code and product searches;
- Display customs tariff and duty information;
- Calculate estimated customs duties and taxes;
- Display CPC, exchange-rate, SRO, and import-policy information;
- Maintain the security and technical performance of the application;
- Diagnose and correct technical problems.
4. Data Sharing
IMPEX Academy does not sell, rent, or trade users’ personal information.
The application relies on Google-hosted services to provide its web-based features. Limited technical information may therefore be processed by Google as a service provider.
Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law, regulation, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority.
5. Advertising and Analytics
The current version of ImpEx CD does not contain third-party advertising SDKs, personalised advertising, Firebase Analytics, or similar user-tracking tools.
If advertising, analytics, or additional third-party services are introduced in a future version, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety declaration will be updated accordingly.
6. App Permissions
ImpEx CD currently requests only the following Android permission:
Internet Access: Required to connect to the online customs duty calculator and retrieve information.
The application does not request direct access to the device’s camera, microphone, precise location, contacts, SMS messages, call logs, photographs, or stored files.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
ImpEx CD does not provide user accounts and IMPEX Academy does not intentionally maintain a database of users’ personal information through the application.
Search requests are processed to provide results and are not intentionally stored by IMPEX Academy as personal user profiles.
Technical information processed by third-party infrastructure providers may be retained according to their applicable policies and security requirements.
Users may contact IMPEX Academy regarding privacy concerns or requests relating to information under our control.
8. Data Security
The application connects to its web service through an encrypted HTTPS connection. Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect the application and its services.
However, no internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Children’s Privacy
ImpEx CD is a business and customs-information utility and is not specifically designed or directed toward children under the age of 13.
IMPEX Academy does not knowingly collect personal information from children through this application. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information may contact us so that appropriate action can be taken.
10. Customs Information Disclaimer
The customs duty, tax, HS Code, CPC, SRO, exchange-rate, and import-policy information provided through ImpEx CD is intended for preliminary informational purposes only.
Rates, regulations, exemptions, and customs procedures may change. Users should verify all information with the Bangladesh Customs authority, the National Board of Revenue, applicable official publications, and a qualified Customs Clearing and Forwarding Agent before making any commercial or financial decision.
11. Third-Party Links
ImpEx CD may contain links to external websites or services. IMPEX Academy is not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of third-party websites.
Users should review the privacy policies of any external service they visit.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
IMPEX Academy may update this Privacy Policy when the application, its services, or applicable legal requirements change.
Any revised policy will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
